Mark Masonry is a separate Masonic order, open to Master Masons, which builds on the lessons of the three Craft degrees. In England and Wales it is governed by the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons, based at Mark Masons’ Hall in London.

The Mark degree

The ceremony is set during the building of King Solomon’s Temple and centres on the marks that operative masons cut into their work to identify it. It is often described as one of the friendliest and most colourful degrees in Freemasonry, and many Brethren find it a natural continuation of their Craft journey.
